MUMBAI: The Sensex opened on a flat-to-positive note led by gains in realty, technology, oil & gas and metals even as the Asian markets moved higher.

At 09:20 a.m; the 30-share index was at 19,624.38, up 16.30 points or 0.08 per cent. It touched a high of 19,639.83 and a low of 19,590.70 in trade today.

"The daily chart now depicts a 'Narrow Range Body' formation. The occurrence of said pattern near '20-day EMA' indicates uncertainty among market participants. Going forward, any sustainable move below yesterday's low of 19,574/5,922 may trigger further pessimism in the market," said Angel Broking note.

"In this scenario, indices may slide towards the recent swing low of 19,414/5879. On the flipside, any sustainable move beyond yesterday's high of 19,723/ 5,970 would negate the pattern and indices may then rally towards 19,768 - 19,865/5,991 - 6,025.".
